Destiny Altering Decisions.

Destiny decisions refer to choices or actions that are believed to significantly impact the course of a person's life, often seen as preordained or guided by fate. These decisions are seen as pivotal moments that can shape one's future or ultimate destiny. When we make decisions, the assumption is we have given it much thought, weighed our options and then come to a conclusion. I recently learnt about destiny decisions and I found myself reflecting on some of the decisions I have made in life that altered the course of my life. One such decision was deciding to change my career.

There are so many things that have happened in my life since that I can trace back to that one day when I decided to switch industries. I started to read because of an amazing friend I met in that team who has since become a dear sister to me. I read one book that opened my eyes to so many things. Through reading I began to believe in my ability to dream again, to believe big things for myself.

How often do we take the decision-making process lightly? We decide things and hardly think “ where is this taking me?” Weighing the pros and cons, and listening to our intuition. We are always one decision away from a completely different life. But how can we strategically steer our lives in the direction we want it to go so we will arrive at our desired destination.

Here are 3 things to consider when making every day life-decisions:

1.Personal Values: Consider what actually matters to you in life. Your values serve as a compass, guiding you towards decisions that are consistent with your views and principles. It matters to me that I always produce excellent work, if i choose to cut corners in this work project, is it aligned to the core values I say I live by?

2.Potential Consequences: Evaluate the possible outcomes of each decision you make. Consider both short-term and long-term impacts on yourself and others involved. If I wake up an hour earlier to read a few pages in a book, I might get a solution for that problem I’ve been having for years. Choosing to read can be beneficial to me and those around me.

3.Future Goals: Reflect on how each decision will influence your future aspirations and goals. Ensure that your choices are in line with where you want to be in the long run. For example skipping your 30 minute daily walk or not eating right, does it align with taking care of your body so you can fulfill your life assignment. Vision is housed in a body.

As we go through life, we must make destiny decisions. Understanding that we are solely responsible for our life's outcomes is a powerful realization. We are solely responsible for our current situation, including health, wealth, debt, success, relationships, and reality. We are where we are because of the decisions we make daily, some more important than others but it all adds up. We might not always get it right but with practice we can get better and make decisions that propel us to our destiny.
