Planning your next like a winner.
When we want to go somewhere, many of us use a GPS, especially to places we have never been before. Occasionally, we request individuals who have already arrived at a similar destination to share their location on WhatsApp. This serves as a guide to know how long it will take and what to pack for the trip. Simply put, it helps us to plan.
IIn this blog, we are going to talk about planning our next like a winner.
Why like a winner? There is a difference between a person who is signing up for a marathon for vibes and someone who wants to succeed. A person who wants to win will commit to a certain kind of lifestyle, and every decision they make is filtered through this one thing they want to achieve.
Alan Lakein says, "Planning is bringing the future into the present so you can do something about it now." The dream house begins with a plan in place. To get business funding, some banks require a detailed plan before they can approve the loan. Simply put, a plan is there to help us know what we can do today to make the future we desire a reality.
Going back to the GPS/asking for location story, once the where has been defined, next comes the how. Let's draw some lessons from it:
1.Plan Your Goals. Without a clearly set-out destination, the map in front of you is of no use. For the red marker to appear on your GPS, you first have to tell it where you want to end. Taking the time to know where we want to be will help with the planning process.
2.Plan Your Resources:
The most precious resource is our time. If we wait for the perfect weather conditions for us to embark on our journey, chances are, we will never move. To win at whatever we want, we need to be aware of how we spend our time. We need to be intentional about how we spend the resources we have to prepare us for the future we desire. If we are not happy with how things are right now, chances are we might have been spending our time and money on things that do not move us forward to the life we desire.
3.Plan Your Squad:
Find out who has been where you are headed or is at least going in the same direction. Sometimes we know what we want, but we don't know how to even come up with a plan because we don't know what is required. Instead of applying the trial and error method until you run out of fuel, ask those who have gone ahead of you and have arrived. Emphasis on "arrived." If the person has not proven success, don't ask for their plan. You want a PhD; ask the one who has graduated how they did it. Seek business advice from the one whose results are the ones you desire.
.
3.Get Going:
Once you press start on Google Maps, the lady starts talking. When you have your map and tools, embark on the journey. Things will start to become clearer as you move. If any challenges arise, you will have to find another way, but you don't turn back. There are certain lessons you will only learn when you are on the move. Clarity comes from the act of doing.
.
In the words of Lewis Carol, “If you do not know where you are going, any road will lead you there,” and wherever it leads, you don't get to complain. Take time to plan and be clear about your goals. When that is clear, plan how you are going to use your time each day to invest in the future you want. No one has ever done anything significant alone; find your squad and support them as much as they encourage you. When the goal is clear, the time is spent wisely, and the support network is there, go on and build the life of your dreams.
